The detailed program

This climbing weekend in the Jura Mountains between Lyon and Geneva aims to introduce rock climbing and belaying and safety techniques on the most beautiful cliffs in the southern Jura Mountains in the Ain department: the Bugey, a mountainous region located between Lyon and Geneva. We will be based in the Albarine Gorges, a river world-renowned for trout fishing.

The course will be an opportunity to discover rock climbing techniques and techniques. The emphasis will be on safety, and you will be able to try your first lead climbing routes. The program will be adapted to the students' technical and physical level.

TECHNICAL and SPORTS LEVEL: This course is aimed at novice climbers or those with no previous experience. Children aged 12 and over are welcome, accompanied by their parents.

SUPERVISION: The group of students is supervised by a certified instructor with a DEJEPS (Department of Advanced Training in Natural Environments) certification in climbing or equivalent.

GROUP AND NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: For safety and quality reasons, the number of participants is limited to eight. The course is open to groups of four or more.

TRANSPORTATION: Transportation to and from the course location is the responsibility of the participants. On-site transportation is provided either on foot or in the instructor's or students' vehicles.

PROGRAM

This weekend consists of two days of rock climbing at a rock climbing school. The meeting point with students is set each day at 9:00 a.m. at the Bugey Guides office on Place du Pont in Tenay. The day ends at 5:00 p.m. at the same location.

- SATURDAY: Introduction to or review of safety techniques for roping and belaying on a rock climbing school. Discovery of the cliff environment, flora, and fauna.
- SUNDAY: We will spend the day on one of the Bugey cliffs: Virieu-le-Grand, Essieu/Contrevoz, Parves, Plateau d'Hauteville, or Cerdon.

Depending on the weather, the program and locations of the course are subject to change.

Environment, public transport and carpooling

One of our goals is to make the right decisions to protect natural sites and limit our impact on ecosystems and the environment.

100% local: thanks to our local presence in Bugey, close to our practice sites, we reduce our travel to a minimum. We use sustainable and environmentally friendly equipment, manufactured in France or Europe. We work with partners located in the areas we visit: restaurants, bars, and accommodations.nWe will suggest taking public transportation to the meeting points (when possible!) or carpooling for outdoor outings.

Protecting the planet: it's natural!

Photos and Videos

Photography and imagery are part of our DNA. Take advantage of our video and photo equipment to take your adventure memories home with you!

After each outing, we'll send you photos and videos of the outing, free of charge and with a smile!
